Adhesive Products, Inc. was founded in 1878 as a textile coatings manufacturer in San Francisco, California primarily for ladies clothing applications. Shortly after the turn of the century, the company expanded into manufacturing adhesives and adhesive coated packaging tapes.
Over the years, Adhesive Products, Inc and Atwood Adhesives have become, and remain, a family operated business. In 1934 my grandfather, Paul W. Shattuck, purchased the company and with my father's assistance, William L. Shattuck, they began to expand the company through acquisition and new product development. By the mid fifties Adhesive Products, Inc. had purchased three adhesive companies and a custom printed pressure sensitive label manufacturer.
At this time the company had three plants on the West Coast and serviced the graphic arts, theatrical, food processing, woodworking and industrial markets as well as retail repackagers with an extensive product line of adhesives, coatings and custom printed adhesive coated labels.
By 1972 when I, Paul C. Shattuck joined Adhesive Products, Inc., the company had expanded its marketing area beyond the Rockies to the Midwest and Eastern US markets and had added new niche market products including aerospace products used in the Apollo and LEM vehicles.

In the beginning of 2007, my daughter, Trish Shattuck, joins the growing line of Shattuck’s to work with Adhesive Products, Inc. With her arrival, we are expanding our use of technologies and marketing resources to continue our expansion.
For 129 years the company has taken pride in its commitment to quality and excellence and we look forward to an exciting bright future.
Sincerely,
Paul C. Shattuck, CEO
